Australian electro-pop artist Kitty Rae is swimming with sharks and ready to take over the world.

Pink-haired, dark electro-pop artist Kitty Rae is cementing herself as an emerging Aussie music icon with her new single Swim with Sharks; an electric, contagious track that will have you feeling empowered and ready to jump into the unknown.

Written by Kitty, the track was inspired about her experience of moving from her country hometown to the city after finishing school, which she says did feel like being dropped in the middle of the ocean without a life ring.

Describing the song’s essence, Kitty explains ‘when people glorify a shark mentality, it’s easy to mistake vulnerability for weakness.” 

A deep feeler, Kitty’s lifelong struggle with depression and anxiety left her feeling that she wasn’t strong enough to succeed, as she felt she could never be a shark.

Now following her heart instead, she's learned how to untangle herself from a life of fear and anger, by accepting who she really is and embracing her uniqueness.

“It still feels like you’re surrounded by sharks sometimes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t swim in those waters and chase your dream. You just need to be brave enough to stand your ground, be yourself and show them you belong here too.”

Growing to over 13K TikTok followers in October alone, her vulnerability and authenticity as an artist is captivating a growing worldwide audience who connect with her message of unapologetically being yourself.
